Günhal Şatırtav is Professor of Ophthalmology and Head of the Retina Department at Necmettin Erbakan University Meram Faculty of Medicine, Konya, Turkey. She specializes in medical retina and vitreoretinal surgery and holds the Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology – Subspecialty Retina (FEBOS-R) qualification.

Professor Şatırtav’s clinical and research interests include age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular diseases, multimodal retinal imaging, uveitis, and vitreoretinal surgery. In addition to her clinical practice, she is actively involved in resident education, postgraduate training, and clinical research. Her current academic focus is on optimizing the long-term management of retinal diseases and translating emerging evidence into patient-centered clinical practice.

Professor Şatırtav has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and has contributed to national and international collaborative research projects. She is an active member of EURETINA and the Turkish Ophthalmological Association.
