Young Hee Yoon is Professor of Ophthalmology at the Asan Medical Center, University of Ulsan College of Medicine, Seoul, South Korea. She graduated from Seoul National University Medical School, and was trained as a vitreoretinal fellow at the Doheny Eye Institute in Los Angeles, California, USA.

 

Professor Yoon’s main research interests are retinal cell death and ocular angiogenesis. She has authored or co-authored more than 100 articles in various international peer-reviewed journals and has been awarded numerous honors, including an Academic Achievement Award from the Korean Retina Society and the Arthur Lim Award from the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology. In 2015, she was inducted into the Doheny Society of Scholars at the Doheny Eye Institute.

 

Professor Yoon is an active vitreoretinal surgeon, conducting over 10,000 vitreoretinal surgeries, and has been involved in 25 Phase II and III global clinical trials. She is a member of several prominent international societies, including ARVO, AAO, the American Society of Retina Specialists, the Retina Society, and the Club Jules Gonin.
