Prof. Maria Budzinskaya

Head of Department of Clinical Trials in Ophthalmology and deputy director of research work for the Federal State Budget Scientific Research Institute, the Scientific Research Institute of Eye Diseases, Russia

Professor Maria Budzinskaya is a retina subspecialist ophthalmologist. She graduated from Russian State Medical University in 1999, completing her residency and postgraduate courses in ophthalmology at the Russian Research Institute of Eye Diseases (“Helmholz”) in 2001. In 2011, Maria Budzinskaya successfully defended her PhD thesis, New diagnostic and treatment approaches of the subretinal neovascular membrane. She has more than 12 years' experience in retinology.

Dr. Budzinskaya is currently participating in multiple international, multicenter clinical trials focused on AMD, vein occlusion, and DME, in some cases as the principal investigator.

She is a member of the Presidium of the Board of the Russian Society of Ophthalmologists and EURETINA. She is also an author of 217 publications in journals and ophthalmology textbooks.
