Important information on COVID-19
COVID-19 2021 update
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect healthcare services around the world, the Vision Academy, in conjunction with the nAMD Barometer, has developed a range of materials to ensure ophthalmologists feel supported in making appropriate treatment decisions and to help patients better understand the safety measures put in place.
These materials include 2 publications and 2 Letters to the Editor, all open access and published in Graefe’s Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, a Viewpoint, an educational slide deck, a communication to healthcare professionals, customizable template letters to patients, a range of infographics, and a short patient information video which can be downloaded and shared with patients.
Many of these materials are available in multiple languages, downloadable from the All Resources section of this website.
Vision Academy members Professors Jean-François Korobelnik, Anat Loewenstein, Paolo Lanzetta, and Dr. David Wong took part in a webinar in June 2020 to discuss the guidance for anti-VEGF intravitreal injections during the COVID-19 pandemic. You can listen to the discussion in the video below.
Click the buttons below to hear from Dr. Monica Lövestam-Adrian and Professor Paolo Lanzetta in two special COVID-19 podcast episodes. Both episodes discuss the Vision Academy’s original COVID-19 publication in Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, with individual insights from both members.
In the first podcast video below, Professor Jean-François Korobelnik and Dr. David Wong discuss the Vision Academy's latest COVID-19 publication and its key recommendations according to different levels of epidemic pressure. In the second video, Dr. Jane Barratt and Professor Richard Gale discuss how to effectively communicate with and manage patients requiring ophthalmic care during the COVID-19 pandemic.
