Singing the Sixties
On June 5 and 6, the Sierra Chamber Singers and friends performed the popular music of the sixties. We sang songs from "The Mommas and the Papas", "The Beach Boys", "The Beatles", and many other sixties musical groups. For the second part of the show, we had an old-fashioned folk sing with guitars. Everyone, including the audience, was encouraged to dress as in the days of hippies, love, and peace.

Grand Night for the Arts
Grand Night for the Arts is Vision Academy's premere fund-raising event for artistic scholarships. This year, we invited past scholarship recipients to entertain and share their artistic experiences so that they could "Give Back" to our community. We also had candidates for this year's scholarships give an audition of their talents.
We had both a silent and a live auction of art and services. The sale of balloons with valuable coupons raised enough money to pay for one of our scholarships.
People of all ages volunteered their time and energy to make this event a success. It was a wonderful experience for everyone who attended.
Previous Scholarship Winners
Sarah Bassaletti played the xylophone. She now teaches music in central California.
Our first scholarship winner, Tamara Tackett Dent, has toured with musical theater groups. She sang a very funny song from "Little Shop of Horrors."
Last year's scholarship winner, Kyler Fischer, performs on the trumpet.
Entertainment
High School Students perform "Eleanor Rigby" for a scholarship audition.
Matt Claiborne drums up a storm for his scholarship audition.

Christmas Tree Auction
Vision Academy created a Christmas tree full of musical intruments and a wreath for the annual charity Christmas Tree auction. The money raised money for our "Artists in the Schools" program.
